We had such a successful and amazing first BC Craft Beer Month – I think we are all very sad to see it come to an end…

But don’t worry!  There are plenty of events coming up this Fall and Winter, so keep checking the CAMRA Event Calendar for updates.

Here are a few big ones that are coming up in the next in few weeks:

BrewVic Homebrewing Club – Inaugural Meeting
November 5, 2011 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Sean Hoyne has very generously offered to host our ‘Learn to homebrew day’ meeting in his parking lot behind the brewery . At the meeting, we’ll be brewing at least one all-grain brew, sharing the fruits of the brewing sessions at this year’s GCBF, and talking about what the club is all about. There will be burgers by donation, and there will be a couple short presentations on homebrewing. Whether you’ve never brewed before or are an award winning brewmaster we’d love to see you out to support the new group.

Results of Amateur Brewing Competition

Well, after a record number of entries (and judging sessions), we have the results of the 2011 CAMRA Amateur Brewing Competition.  Competitive homebrewing is alive and well in Canada.  This year we had entries from Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and of course from BC.

CAMRA (UK) Celebrates its 40th Birthday

On March 16, 2011, CAMRA (The CAMRA, in the UK) is 40 years old! Raise a responsible glass and bless the four lads whose frustration with beer that was “too fizzy, [had] no character and no taste” led them to start a movement to rescue Ale from oblivion. And maybe send a note (cam...@camra.org.uk) of good wishes while you’re at it.
